Step by step.

Start with a clean slide
A Vulcan slide, logo end to the left, dry and free of dust.

- Warning: Pressing the coverslip down forces liquid to the perimeter, where the seal has to go.
- Check: The bead is continuous: a gap anywhere lets the mount dry out over a long run.
