Fast to the target, and no further.
The instrument gets to a new temperature quickly and arrives without hunting for it. A move passes its target by a fraction of a degree, then closes into the specified band and stays there.

A stable temperature can be kept for days. Temperature fluctuations are below 0.1°C.

Write the path. Vulcan follows it.
An experiment is a list of steps: a target, how fast to get there, how long to stay. Rows can be grouped into a block and repeated, and every run is recorded against the programme it followed.

Calibration ensures correct temperature readings.
The stage reads the temperature under the sample. Calibration ties that reading to an accurate measurement in your environment.
