Vulcan introduced at Look Inside! in Mainz

Blue Ice Labs showed the Vulcan Temperature Stage in public for the first time at Look Inside!, hosted by the Institute of Molecular Biology in Mainz, and released this website alongside it.

Vulcan holds a sample anywhere from −10°C to 80°C at the microscope stage, with a stability of ±0.1°C at steady state. Users can now control the temperature of their samples dynamically and accurately.

The instrument was shown in a talk and in a hands-on workshop, run twice over the afternoon by Juan Iglesias and Anatol Fritsch.

Look Inside! is organised by the microscopy core facility at the Institute of Molecular Biology. Fourteen companies took part in the 2026 meeting.
